HYUNDAI UNITES WITH THE RECORDING ACADEMY® AS OFFICIAL VEHICLE PARTNER
Three-year Partnership Connects Music’s Biggest Brand with Hyundai’s Passion for Creativity to bring Original Works of Art to Music Fans
COSTA MESA, Calif., November 17, 2011 – Tapping into the power of music, Hyundai joined forces with music’s biggest brand – The Recording Academy® (internationally known for the GRAMMY Awards®) – to become its “Official Vehicle Partner.” The multi-year partnership extends well beyond awards night and will result in original music projects sure to please music fans across many genres and categories. In addition to being the exclusive GRAMMY® vehicle partner, Hyundai is working directly with The Recording Academy to identify and support new projects reflecting the brand’s creativity and desire to celebrate music year-round.
The partnership is being forged as Hyundai launches the 2012 Veloster, an innovative three-door coupe including technology that will change the way creative individuals experience driving. The first of many collaborations with The Academy is a unique concept called the RE:GENERATION MUSIC PROJECT that will yield a documentary film called “RE:GENERATION” which follows five modern DJs who - through the use of technology - are changing the way the world creates and experiences music. The project will also create five new electronic music tracks influenced by everything from country to classical. The new tracks include participation from multiple GRAMMY Award winners as they collaborate with each DJ to re-imagine their genre in each DJs’ unique style.
“The all-new Hyundai Veloster, our three-door sporty coupe, connects with an audience that loves music,” said Steve Shannon, vice president of marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “Music and driving go hand-in-hand and Veloster gives creative individuals the tools to re-imagine a modern music soundtrack. Over the next few years, we’ll commission original works of art and new music projects that we can share with music fans everywhere, and the RE:GENERATION MUSIC PROJECT is the perfect kick-off to our collaboration with the GRAMMYs.”
A trailer of the “RE:GENERATION” film is available at: www.regenerationmusicproject.com and at youtube.com/veloster. Music videos and song downloads for all five music tracks will also be posted. More than 1.25 million visitors have already accessed content from the RE:GENERATION MUSIC PROJECT through social media channels. As the sole benefactor, Hyundai will also bring the story, content and experiences to this creative audience through film screenings, music festivals, digital apps, social media, online streaming and PR over the next 12 months. The Recording Academy will help make the film available by hosting special screenings and through its own social media channels.
"We are thrilled to partner with Hyundai to connect fans and car consumers to the power of music on Music's Biggest Night® and throughout the year," said Evan Greene, chief marketing officer for The Recording Academy. "Our brand partnership celebrates excellence in music and innovation, and we look forward to nurturing this relationship with exciting and creative projects over the next year."
Hyundai will play a starring role for the GRAMMYs as both the “Official Vehicle Partner” of the GRAMMY Awards and GRAMMY Week. Hyundai’s partnership begins with two 60-second spots on the Nov. 30 CBS GRAMMY Nomination Show which will include content from the RE:GENERATION MUSIC PROJECT as well as behind-the-scenes footage. Then, as part of GRAMMY Week, Hyundai vehicles will grace the red carpet, chauffeur stars to the awards ceremony, and be on display at the official GRAMMY Celebration® after-party, as well as the Special Merit Awards and GRAMMY Nominee Reception. Hyundai will also be a part of the Pre-GRAMMY Gala & GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons® event at The Beverly Hilton Hotel the night before the awards telecast. Ten GRAMMY viewing parties in Recording Academy Chapter cities will include Hyundai displays as well. The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards are set to air live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 12, 2012, on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

HYUNDAI SEES BIGGEST LONG-TERM GAIN IN FALL 2011 ALG PERCEIVED QUALITY STUDY
Hyundai Brand Moves to 9th Place, a Gain of Nine Spots in Three Years
COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 10, 2011– The Hyundai brand continues its upward momentum, with the industry’s biggest long-term gain in ALG’s Fall 2011 Perceived Quality Study (PQS). Hyundai earned the No. 9 spot moving up nine spots from 18th place over the past three years. Twice a year, ALG surveys approximately 3,000-4,000 U.S. consumers to gauge perceptions of a number of mainstream and luxury automotive brands for its PQS.
“Hyundai has made impressive efforts to improve brand perception and we can see that it has truly paid off in the mainstream rankings,” said Eric Lyman, Vice President, Residual Value Solutions, ALG.
Hyundai’s ongoing success is largely attributed to the positive reception of the newly redesigned Elantra and Accent models, as well as the all-new Veloster, all three of which have received significant consumer interest and positive reception since their respective launches. These vehicles in addition to the rest of the Hyundai lineup contributed to Hyundai’s success last month in shattering 2010’s full year sales record with 545,316 vehicles sold to date.
“Hyundai continues to impress car shoppers with the level of quality throughout the lineup from the entry level Accent all the way to our flagship Equus sedan,” said Frank Ferrara, executive vice president, Customer Satisfaction, Hyundai Motor America. “And, with a slew of recently launched and redesigned models, Hyundai quality and brand perception will continue to grow.”

GENESIS HURRICANE SC TO CREATE A STORM AT 2011 SEMA SHOW
HATCI and Magnuson Supercharge Hyundai Genesis Coupe
COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct.13, 2011 – To showcase the extreme power of Hyundai’s most popular performance car, Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) teamed up with Magnuson Products, Rhys Millen Racing, Harman International and Torvec Inc. to develop and build a special edition prototype Genesis Coupe, the Genesis Hurricane SC. HATCI, Hyundai’s design, technology and engineering branch, will display the high-performance Genesis Coupe in Hyundai’s 2011 SEMA Show booth from November 1-4, 2011 in Las Vegas.
The Genesis Hurricane SC represents a two year development effort by HATCI, as its engineers worked to enhance all aspects of the vehicle including power, traction, braking, exterior and interior design and audio system. Highlighting the performance modifications, HATCI teamed up with Magnuson Products to supercharge Genesis Coupe’s 3.8L V-6 engine with a liquid to air intercooler, producing more than 450 horsepower.
“The HATCI and Magnuson supercharger demonstrates the high-performance potential of Genesis Coupe’s V-6 engine – the car was engineered to handle this kind of extra power,” said David Dutko, senior engineer, HATCI. “Our HATCI engineers have been working for years with Magnuson to ensure high engine output is available on future Hyundai vehicles.”
“The supercharger creates a modest six to seven pounds of boost which generates a 35-45 percent increase in horsepower and torque and can be easily modified to deliver even higher boost levels,” said Terry Peddicord, director, sales, Magnuson Products. “One of the many exciting aspects of this project is that the Genesis Hurricane SC is not just another pretty face for the show circuit, but rather it is a hard working lab-rat that will push the bounds of this car and the whole vehicle segment.”
In addition to the supercharged V-6, Torvec Inc. has been developing its IsoTorque differential with improved handling and traction capability with HATCI engineers at the Hyundai Proving Grounds in California. The IsoTorque differential delivers nearly a one second per lap improvement in the Genesis Coupe on the Hyundai road course.
Beyond the engine, Genesis Hurricane SC has a long and impressive list of both interior and exterior specialty modifications. Hyundai’s long-standing racing partner Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) provided exterior enhancements including a front bumper, grille, hood, side skirts, diffuser and rear deck with spoiler. RMR partners Enkei and Hankook provided the high performance 19-inch wheel and tire assemblies, a RMR free flowing exhaust system and air intake was utilized to free up more engine power. The vehicle also sports upgraded LED headlights and taillights provided by FlyRyde.
The Hurricane’s interior also received some state of the art enhancements including a Harman International high level Lexicon audio system that was tuned in house by HATCI engineers and Katzkin custom premium leather and suede seats accented with blue inserts.
Mechanically, the Hurricane SC has Bilstein monotube shock absorbers and springs with adjustable ride height tuned on the Nurburgring in Germany and a Brembo six piston brake kit with cross drilled front and rear rotors. The engine also received a SPEC lightweight single mass aluminum flywheel and stage two clutch, DeatschWerks high flow fuel pump and 600cc injectors, Perma-Cool oil, differential and steering coolers and a custom CPR Fabrication billet aluminum oil filter adapter.
Additionally, on the SEMA Show floor the numerous parts of the Genesis Hurricane SC will be displayed, providing show-goers the opportunity to experience and interact with the vehicle’s actual hard parts and future developments.

What our customers are saying!
"I arrived without an appointment and was immediately greeted and taken care of and an explanation of what would be done given to me. It is to be noted that 2 of your service advisors Chong and Monica did an excellant job of handling my service request. I had not received any coupons in quite awhile online, so they were able to help find one for me and explained that it was probably due to the move that I was not receiving them. Once again thank you for the great service and keep it up as I will return."
